Co-founder Russ Shepherd is growing a team of people to develop EV units and install EV infrastructure. Sites have been set up across Australia for councils and companies such as global construction company Komatsu Construction.
What’s making it easier for councils and companies to embrace this green technology is EV funding available by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DEWLP)—for Victoria, NSW, South Australia, and other states. We’ve put together a cheat sheet to help with EV grant submissions.
The first EV unit was set up in Buninyong more than 2 years ago. It’s seen plenty of use each day, particularly as more people are using electric vehicles.
“The AURIGA’S modular, closed loop design is the perfect fit for our community / Council electric vehicle charging project partnership. We also loved the fact it’s made in Victoria and that we’re supporting local business.
It means EV drivers will visit and stay in Buninyong for longer and spend money with local traders. The EVUp team were extremely responsive and professional, passionate experts in electric vehicle charging infrastructure and we couldn’t have delivered this project without them.”
- Andrew Aitken, Buninyong Sustainability Group
EVUp is a proud employer of locals. Blossom is an automotive graduate from RMIT. She solders LEDs onto the units and brings them onto the server. This gives helpful real-time data such as what time charges were initiated and more.
Electrician Matt constructs the chargers according to customer specifications. Whether you need 10 chargers, 22kw or 7kw, he’ll set you up.
Our infrastructure is OCPP compliant—this means EV car owners can use chargers from any supplier. Our aim is to improve the unit as EV technology evolves.
If you’re looking to future proof sites and enjoy a reliable, local EV service, we’d love to help. Call 1300 70 11 99.
